Lectio Divina

Don't be put off by the Latin title.  It simply means "Divine Reading" and is an ancient way of reading, meditating and praying Scripture which many attribute to Gregory of Nyssa who lived in the 300s.  Ordinarily it is  practiced alone, but can be done in a group. 

Have your Bible and prayer journal at hand.  I recommend that you choose a short passage of Scripture, perhaps only a verse or two.
